Mark Ray Lewis was raised on Highway 61 across from the Huck Finn Shopping Center in Hannibal MO, but soon headed West and fell in with a dark cabal of hopped up musicians including: Jason Aspeslet a rhythm-smith who started playing perididdles in the 4th grade; Darrell Sparks a muli-instrumentalist who grew up in West Texas; and Michelle Collins whose palliative harmonies would be a silver blessing to any writer’s song.
“The back story for this enchanting debut is all about words…yet ultimately it’s the music that lingers…a burbling, oompahing wheeze that seems to be groaning with the rest of creation.” — Bill Friskics-Warren
NO DEPRESSION
“The breeze and ease in the group’s songs support all your dreamiest fantasies about the desert Southwest; this is nice, nice stuff.”
