Festival de Montreal: programación de la Competencia


Aquí aparece una película argentina de la que tenía mínimas referencias: "Andrés no quiere dormir la siesta", de Daniel Bustamante, una película de la que encontré la siguiente información:

"La actriz argentina Norma Aleandro volverá a protagonizar este año una película ambientada en el trágico período de la última dictadura militar, tal como lo hizo en la laureada ‘La historia oficial‘ (1985).

Aleandro protagonizará Andrés no quiere dormir la siesta, ópera prima del realizador argentino Daniel Bustamante, que se comenzará a rodar el mes próximo en la ciudad de Santa Fe.

La actriz se pondrá en la piel de una abuela que debe criar a sus nietos en un barrio donde funciona un centro clandestino de detención. El elenco se completa con Celina Font, Marcelo Melingo, Ezequiel Díaz y Alicia Aller.

El proyecto fílmico, que será producido por El Ansia Producciones y San Luis Cine, resultó ganador del Concurso de Cine Independiente 2007 de la provincia puntana, donde también se rodará parte del largometraje.

El Instituto Superior de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales de Santa Fe, que también es parte del proyecto, comunicó que el filme "tiene asegurada la distribución tanto en Argentina como en España".

The Montreal World Film Festival (MWFF) has announced the complete line-up of its 33rd edition, including twenty features in each of its keystone World Competition and First Films World Competition.

Among the titles competing in the World programme are Montreal habitué Claude and Nathan Miller’s I’m Glad That My Mother is Alive, German filmmaker Lancelot Von Naso’s Ceasefire, Forever Waiting by Spain’s Francisco Avizanda and St. George Shoots The Dragon by Serbia’s Srdjan Dragojevic. Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Amiryoussefi presents Fire Keeper while Switzerland’s Séverine Cornamusaz has Animal Heart .

From Japan, Kichitaro Negishi will compete with Villon’s Wife while China’s Quan’an Wang has Weaving Girl. Danish filmmaker Morton Giese brings Love And Rage, Swiss filmmaker Micha Lewinsky has Will You Marry Us? and Polish film-maker Mariusz Grzegorzek has I Am Yours.

Among the First Films World Competition are Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay! by US filmmaker Evgeny Afineevsky and The Childhood Of Icarus by Alexandre Lordachescu, a Romania-France co-production notable for the last screen appearance of Guillaume Depardieu.

MWFF, which runs August 27 - September 7, will present 240 features from 78 countries.
